The right questions for you

Look at each account on its own.

A business may have different utilities, rate classes or usage patterns across locations. A subscription that fits one account may not fit another.

Your business checklist

  • Confirm the signer’s authority and internal procurement requirements.
  • Ask how changes in usage, tenancy or business ownership affect the subscription.
  • Review project capacity and any commercial-customer restrictions.
  • Request an explanation of environmental attributes and reporting rights.

Account-by-account review

Identify service locations, utilities, account types and the decision-maker for each contract.

A clear financial comparison

Compare credits, subscription costs, fees, billing timing and changes over the agreement term.

Careful sustainability claims

Ask who owns any renewable energy certificates before making environmental or renewable-electricity claims.

Worth asking

Clarity for your
next step.

Does a 10% discount mean 10% off my entire bill?
Not necessarily. A discount may apply to the value of solar credits. For example, paying $90 for $100 of credits leaves $10 before any other fees. That is different from reducing every utility charge by 10%. This is an illustration, not a Pinnacle Solar offer.
Is a credit check or upfront payment required?
Requirements vary. Ask about screening, deposits, payment methods and all fees for the actual project. A practice advertised by one provider does not apply to every community solar plan.
When would credits start appearing?
After enrollment is accepted, the project must be operating and the utility must process your allocation. A waitlist or a project still in development can mean a longer wait. Get the expected activation date and first-credit timing in writing.
Beyond the headline discount

Make the proposal
work for procurement.

Compare the same accounts

List the service addresses, rate classes, annual usage and account owner. Review demand charges and other costs that credits may not fully offset.

Put the assumptions in writing

Ask for the production, allocation, credit-value and pricing assumptions behind a forecast. Identify which amounts can change and who bears the risk.

Separate cost and environmental claims

Credit savings and renewable-energy claims are different questions. Clarify ownership of renewable energy certificates and reporting rights before making claims.
